Sir,—A fow days ago "Temperance Man" aired his eloquence upon tho above subject, , and • satirically inquired what sacrifices thj> 'WIC.T.'U. were making when they were so anxious to seo the members of Parliament sacrificing their alcoholic drink. Well, Sir, I happened to bo visiting a country branch-in Canterbury' recently, where tha members present all pledged themselves to abstain from afternoon tea. No-doubt other branches have .dono the same, and I know ■ several' individual members who hayb to the various war funds the money'set aside for a new dress. But most persons are silent with respect to tho sacrifices they are making—l am, etc., ; W.C.T.TJ. .
