THE folly of taking digestive ■ PILLS. A WARNING TO DYSPEPTICS. ' The habit of talcing digestive pills after meals makes chronic dyspeptics of many thousands of men and women because artificial djgestants, dru°s and medicines have practically upon the excessively acid condition of the stomach contents which alone is the cause of most forms of indigestion and dyspepsia. The after-dinner pill merely lessens the sensitiveness of the stomach nerves and thus gives a false sense of freedom .from pain whereas, if those- who are subject'to flat- . ulencc, heartburn, wind, etc., wero to obtain a little pure bisurated magnesia from the chemist and take half a teaspoonrul in a little water after meals, thorn would be no necessity for drugs or medicines because bisurated magnesia instantly neutralises acidity, stops food fermentation and thus ensures normal nainless digestion by enabling tha stomach to do its work without hindrance.—Adrt,
