THE HUTT ROAD GOVERNMENT STANDS BY ITS Bill THE MORATORIUM TO PREVENT ABUSES OP THE ORIGINAL ACT Tlio Legislative Council' met' at 2.30 p.m. I'he amendments proposed by His Excellency the Governor in the New Zealand Loans Amendment Bill ivcre agreed to. The Savings Bank Amendment Bill, the Fruit Preserving Industry Amendment Bill, the Scenery Preservation Amendment Bill, the Swamp Drainago Bill, the National Provident Fund Amendment Bill, and the War Funds Bill were received from the House and read a first time. The War Fimds Bill was read a second time pro forma,, and referred to tho Statutes Revision Committee. The Council rose at 2.45 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. to-day. .•
