On Monday afternoon Mrs. C. Parata entertained the friends and relatives of the Maori Expeditionary . Force who were in Wellington at a very enjoyable afternoon tea. Among; some of those who were present were friends from the Wairarapa, and • the opportunity of meeting those from other places added to the pleasure of the occasion. Afternoon tea was served, and a string band played the favourite airs of the day. Several interesting speeches were made, and before the guests departed, Mrs. l'arata presented each one with a Maori military badge, on which were inscribed the words in Maori "Fighting AVarriors of Tu," as a memento of a very pleasant gathering.
