AITKEN presented a petition from the Viotoria Colloge Council praying that no legislation; should be passed; inte-fering with the functions of the council under the Victoria College Council Act, 1905, and the amending Act. ■ - _ Oil the motion of the Hon. Sir Francis Bell it was resolved that the Standing Orders should be bo far suspended for the-remainder 0 f the session as to allow Government Bills to. pass through all stages at one sitting, ' Tho Hon. G. JONES gave .notice to move that he would ask the Government to publish' whether, the New Zealanders at the Dardanelles, will be provided with clothing necessary to, as far as possible,: secure their, Health and comfort during the winter, and also what requisites the public are expected to arid the most advantageous and v economio way of forwarding parcels to the front. He further gavo notico to ask that the. Council should receive the report on the manufacture of munitions and the great natural resources of New Zealand which Mr. A. It. Sennett recently wrote' at the instigation of the Hon. Jas. Allen. '.'
The amendments made by the House: to tho Births and Deaths Registration Amendment Bill, were referred to the Statutes Revision Committee .for con-, sideration.- : t ' The Imprest Supply Bill (No., 4) w.as put through all stages, and passed without disoussion. ' . The following local Bills were receivjed from the House,'read a first "time' and referred to the Local Bills Committee Papakura Beach Vesting Bill, Wellington and Karori Sanitation and Water. Supply Amendment Bill,- Christchurcli Electrical Supply Amendment Bill, AVyndham Recreation Reserves Amendment Bill, Tokomaru Bay Harbour Bill, Bluff Haroour Improvement Bill. ;■ The council rose at 2.45 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. to-day.
