American meat packers are furious at Sir Samuel Evans's condemnation in tlio Prize Court of steamers carrying their goods. - i German papers in .the States are eagerly trying to use the' judgment as indicative ; of Britain's arbitrariness at S6 [Sir Samuel Evans, President...ofjlio Admiralty Court, . gave judgment last iveek regarding four Scandinavian vcssels which -were carrying' cargoes for Copenhagen, andl alleged to be really destined for Germany. It. was wild, tliafc the vessels had thirteen times the usual amount of goods for Copenhagen, including hundreds of thousands of tins or canned meats apparently the German army. , His Lordship decided that the destination of the cargoes was the German army and navy, and confiscated the cargoes, except a 6mall proportion which was released. The judgment affects forty-two vessels, also tho shipments of many meat packers, including the Armours, Swifts,'and-. Morris.]
