Bad weather has been responsible for again delaying the Mapourika on the West Coast. Dawson, harbourmaster at Wellington, told a reporter yesterday that while the work of extending tho Wool Wharf is being oarried out, the usual lights will be shown thereon. For tho convenience of shipmasters working the port at night, however, a white light will bo shown from each corner at the end of the new wharf as the extension is in progress. MERCHANT SERVICE GUILD. NEW SECRETARY APPOINTED. By a unanimous vote Captain F. A. Macindoo has been appointed secretary of the Merchant Service Guild (New Zealand Section) out of over ICO applicants. Captain Macindoo is a brother of Mr. A. E. Macindoe, one of tho Government inspectors of machinery at Wellington, and he served liis apprenticeship with the New Zealand Shipping Company in sail. ' After wards he was for soveral years in the service of the Donald Currie Line, trading between Southampton and South Africa.' Webb, late chief officer of tho Rakanoa, has been appointed chief officer of the Warrimoo, vice Mr. Reeves, who lias resigned from the Union Company's service to tako up a shore position' in Wellington. Mr. J. Nicholson, late of the Whakatanc, is now chief engineer of tho Rimutaka. Mr. J. W. Taylor, late of the Turakina, is fifth engineer on the Rimutaka. - Mr .G.' Kinnell, late of the Otaki, is now third officer -of the Rimutaka. Captain G. M. Symmers is in command of the 8.1.
