Saturday afternoon saw the 1915 football season brought to a close as far as tho "soccer" game is concerned. It was tho final match for the Charity Cup, which was played on the Basin Reserve, beforo a fair number of people. After a fairly fast, clean, willing go, Thistle were returned doublo chanipions by defeating Hospital by two goals to nil. Both tho 6cores wero made by Gibson, and ho was mainly responsible for Hospital's defeat in the championship final. Thistle have secured both the Charity Cup and 1915 Championship Shield this year. The game had not been in operation long before it was evident that both sides wero out for a win. After a lot of-wild kicking the players settled down to their work, and the result was that an interesting contest ensued. The first score came from a corner kick conceded by Hospital after Ash 'had made strenuous efforts .to get through. Bamett took the kick and put im a good centre. Gibson, being handy, caught the ball nicely, and headed through. Thistle, lj Hospital, 0. Till half-time Hospital had the better of the game, and should have scored on several occasions but their play lacked finish. On the other hand Thistle's full-backs did not take any. chances, and Belhamie, in goal, rose to .the occasion every time. The second half was even more exciting than the first. On the occasion on whichi tho second goal was scored, Thistle wero pressing when Ferguson miskickeil. Gibson again, took his chance and scored with a fast low shot,. beating Porteous, who threw himself along the ground in : his endeavour i;o save the shot.
