. The secretary'.of .the Lower . Hutt "Leather Waistcoat". Committee (Miss Stuart-Forbes) states that great activity is being displayed by Lower Hutt ladies in tlieir effort to produce waistcoats for soldiers. Miss .Stuart-Forbes added, however, that tho demand for workers was greater than tho supply, and said thety would appeal to any who might be willing to assist to attend at St. James's Schoolroom, Lower Hutt, any day excepting Saturday. The com•mittee is endeavouring to complete 700 garments by the end of the month, and. thus far have been unable to cope with the work.
