NATIONAL RESERVE
The Lyall Bay unit of the National Reserve held their weekly parade on Thursday evening, and owing to tlio rough weather the men were prevented from doing field operations on the sand, as originally intended... However, Ser-geant-Major Lang instructed the unit in guard mounting, the relieving of sentries, and general camp duties. After the men had been carefully grounded in the theoretical,part of this, drill; the work was carried 'out in practice with most satisfactory results. It was intimated that '.t!ie_ unit wild shoot a friendly. match with the Hataitai secion on Saturday evening, and that Sergeant C. J. AshtonTate captain of the Lyall Bay unit, 1 who is at present : in 1 camp _at Iteni thaun, 'vrouW be shooting for the i team. .
