•'Advice was received in .Wellington yesterday that a heavy bush fire wae reported near Kaikoura: ■ Circumstances attendant to a small , collision . between a motor-car and a railway engine, which occurred recently at the Bunny Street railway crossing were reviewed in • Magistrate's Court yesterday, when Thomas Henry Callingham, the driver, of the motorcar, was oharged with failing to comply with, the notice "Stop! Look our for the Engine," before' going over the Crossing on the day in question. After hearing • the evidence, the_ Magistrate convicted defendant, ordering him to pay costs, £1 Is. ■ Mr. C. H. Ensor, of "White Rock" Station, Canterbury, was in Wellington on Thursd&y arranging for the Shipment to Panama, -Australia, and Japan of lots of stud Corriedalo sheep. Those for Japan were recently purchased for the Japanese Government's JSyperiEtental.Farm. "
