ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL

. The ordinary meeting of -the Onslow Borough -, Council was held last night. There were present the Mayor (Mr. C. 0.; Crump), and Councillors J. C. Gardner, A, W. C. Palmer, L. A. Browne, H. Brenton Rule; C. Bowden, J. M. Dale; A. E. Budd, ,W; Appleton, and J. G.' Smith. Councillor Budd moved: "That the special counpil,,. me^jaga^oj;. tion of . Mr.' ''Fulton-'s-report'beheld 'in' the Public Hall, Khandallah." The motion was lost' on. tihe. casting vote of the Mayor. A.letter was read from the' Defence' Department advising that a site for a fire brigade station.on the old Forts Reserve, Kaiwarra, might be either . leased or. purchased on suitable terms. It was decided to reply offering to purchase the site. .• , ''• ■ In reply .to. a letter from Mr. D. P. Matthews, asking if the council 'was prepared to lea6e him the catchment area, it was-decided, on the motion of Councillor Bowdeil, to defer^ the matter pending the council's decision on the' water question. "• 1 : • j •It was decided to invite applications for the position of ranger. ' .- Applications' were received from Mr. J. G. Smith to store petrol and kerosene, and Mr. B. Lynneberg to store benzine and kerosene. Both applies tions were granted.'• V
