The Railwayman's Union executive has discussed the demand for increased wages, which is based on the contention that the war bonus is inadequate to meet the rise in foodstuffs and commodities." One solution suggested was the extension of the bonus. • The executive offered to negotiate with the railway managers direct, or to submit the' claim to the arbitration of Sir George Askwith, Conciliation Commissioner.
