THE CALL FOR MEDICAL MEN
CHANGES AT THE HOSPITAL.
Owing to the urgent call for military duty for resident medical officers since the outbreak of-the war, the medical staffs of nearly' every hospital in the country have undergone coiisiderablo changes, and probably none of them have been affected more than the Wellington Hospital, whose medical superintendent.(Dr. Barclay has at times been decidedly short-handed in coping with the large number of patients who have filled the wards during the past six months. Of the resident medical staff, Drs. Myers, Haslett, Marshall, and Eweil have recently left or resigned to take up other duties, in most cases'replacing those doctors who have answered the call either in New Zealand or who have joined tho B.A.M.C. in England. ' ■ ~ Dr. Eweil, who leaves the Hospital on September' 20/ ■' has,','.,been appointed medical superintendent of the Timaru Hospital. "In the place of the doctors mentioned, Drs. S. Scoullar, B. T. Aldved. B. Si- -Baxter, and G. B. -Isdale, all of whom have recently qualified, have: been appointed as house surgeons, and there is'now a full complement attached to the medical staff of the Hospital.
