Tho entries for tho Cup include the Now Zealand Cup candidates, Pavlova, Goldstream, and Prince Laddo. H. Cutis is expected 1 to arrive at Wanganui on Saturday with the Chokebore team for the Spring Meeting. It is expected that Battle Eve, Harlequin,' Adjutant, and Snapdragon will be the horses to make the '(rip. . * The Sydney handicappers are not taking any risk with Kow. Tho Now Zealander was handicapped at list, in the Steeplechase on Saturday, though ho had never previously been entered for such (in event. It will probably be found that tho pen was put through his name. Diavolo has been entered for the hurdle race at the Rosehill Meeting which opens on Saturday next. The New Zealimders, Colonel Soult, and Housewife, are also engaged.

Eligible (Bpn\form—Class), who will bo racing at Avondale on Saturday, has Been left in tho RosehilL Guineas in error. Eacing will be' commenced at Avon-* dale to-day when the Cup and Stakes will 'be' decided. The handicap event is regarded as open,' but horses that have raced recently will have. an advantage over those i that are sporting silk for the first time 6ince their winter spell. Lady Jack and Monojack, both of whom hail from P. Stenninr"s stables, and will bo ridden bv B. Deeley, are likely to be fancied in the Stakes and Cup respectively. Black Northern, who is sure to be made a favourite" for tho hurdles, will be ridden by A. J. M'Flinn. A. Oliver will be on Crown Pearl, and Glenroy, and C. Emerson is to steer Red Book and Eligible. Tho Otaki weights will not be issued until Friday. This will enable the handicapper to take cognisance of the form at Avondale to-morrow. Ix>yal Arch is the fancy locally for the Flying Handicap at Avondale to-day. The Marble Arch filly was in the first flight {is a; 2-year-old, and at the Summer Meeting she was regarded as very little inferior- to Desert Gold and Sutala. ■ Sho made a clean sweep of the handicaps in the north and finished -up by carrying 9st. 131b. and winning at Takapuna. On that form 6ho is certain to give a good account of herself to-day.

A report was current in Wellington yesterday that' J. Hennah had sold Kew. The chestnut was only purchased lost month and if the"" report is correct he did not race in Hennah's colours. The sum of J8630 is to be given in stakes by the_ Ashhurst-Pohajigiora Eacing Club, which will hold its annual meeting on November 24. At the present time the stewards are working energetically improving tho course, the turns of which have been banked to secure safety. The stands are being renovated and additions made to tho totalisator house. The clitb has every confidence of regaining its name as the premier one-day club of the Dominion.
