ART UNIONS & THE LAW
DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER, By Telegraph.—Press .Association. Taihape, September 14. A big deputation waited •on the Premier _at Taihape last night, asking for a widening of the law to permit gifts in aid of a Queen Carnival for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund to be disposed of by lottery. It was pointed l out that they could so dispose of earthenware and dress, but not such things as motor-cars; that it was Unfair to stop the privilege others had enjoyed, because it would materially affect the representation on the central executive, which was proportionate to the money contributed. For the little lads of Wellington we invito their mothers to inspect our fine showing of "sports" suits, the most becoming of all small boys' suits—l7s. 6d. to 255. Geo.
