GOOD-BYE TO THE MAORIS.
■ NEXT SATURDAY. Yesterday morning the Hon. Dr. Pomare and Mr. A. T. Ngata, M.P., met the Mayor (Mr. J. P.. Luke) to discuss the arrangements in connection ivitli the send-olf to be given the Second Maori Contingent in Wellington on Saturday next. . It was arranged that tho men, who would arrive in town at 2.30 p.m., should march by way of Lambton Quay, Willis and Manners Streets to the To'wn Hall, where, at 3 p.m., they will ,bo tendered a reception. Among those 'to bo invited to speak briefly will bo His Excellency tho Governor, the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey), tho Hons. James 'Allen, W. H. Herries, Sir Joseph Ward, and Sir Jamos Carroll. On the conclusion of the function in the big Town Hall the Natives will repair to the Concert Chamber, whero they will be banqueted in style, but this function will be sacred to the members of the Contingent, visiting Maori chiefs, and the relatives of the men.
