ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY
The "Wellington Orchestral Society,which has been- in. recess, for some' years past, has come to! life again, and .will give its' first- performance' in, the Town Hall on Wednesday: evening next, under the baton of Mr. Bernard Page. , The orchestra is now composed.of 5Q members, The proceeds derived from the first concert are to. be given to the.-Wounded. Soldiers', Sailors', and Dependents' Fund. The society; is - particularly fortunate in having obtained tlie assist-ance of Sfe.-H«r-. Bert Bloy' as' leading, violin.- Mr. Arthur Alexander, who toured New Zealand' some time back,'is to play the Schumann pianoforte "Concerto in A Minor," and Mr.' Frank Charlton will contribute vocal items.' ■■ .
