(Continued from Page 10) Farewell to Hockey Players, Yesterday evening members of the Wellington Ladies' Hockey Association entertained tho visiting representative hockey players who have been taking part in the 1915 tournament, at a social evening which was held in Godier's Booms in Courtenay Place. As maybe imagined when so many ladies' hockey teams were gathered together the room was exceedingly well filled with visitors and their hostesses, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. A programme of songs, recitations and instrumental music had been arranged and was contributed to _ by tho following:—Songs, Miss C. Smith, Mr. Bennet,, Mr. Maswell, Mr. R. Rickard, Miss Saunders, Miss Little; recitations, Master Len Power, Master Tonics. Miss Saunders, and Miss M. Burt, the latter reciting the now well-known and popular "Kid from Timaru." Mr. Jackson, manager of the Wanganui- ladies' team also recited, his contribution, being a composition by Mr. Heaphy. Mrs. Harlen conI tributed a pianoforte solo, Mr. N. Watson and Mr. G. Tinney a pianoforte duet, Mr. W. Miller a musical monologue, and Miss C. Smith, a 'cello solo. Supper was served on small tables which were _ platted about the room, their decorations of yellow narcissi giving a vivid touch of colour to the general effect. The chaperones of the occasion wore Mrs. Tinney and Mrs. Paterson and Mr. A. A. Bennett was master or ceremony. The committee in charge of the arrangements consisted of Misses Fulton, Harvey, Tinney, Paterson, C. Smith, Tucker, Carrick, Simon, and Saunders, Messrs. A. A. Bennett, and A. W. Manning." Miss Adela \\ elsby was ' honorary secretary of the social committee. An apology from' the Mayoress, Mrs. J. P. Luke, who was unable to attend, was received. The engagement is announced of Mies Gladys Lawry,, elder daughter of Mr. H. It. Lawry, of Karaka Bay, to Mr. M. Corkill, now in camp at Trentham. Packing for the Military Gamp Hospital, yhicli ■it is-anticipated will be ready for occupation on Wednesday, proceeded very busily yesterday at the Town Hall by the ladies of the Camp Hospital Committee. The hospital has but recently been finished, and no time is being lost now in furnishing and equipping it for use. Members of the committee plan to go out on Monday and spend the day getting it ready for occupation. Some very pleasant little surprises for sick soldiers in tho way of various minor comforts. uro being planned, and there is up doubt but that the hospital will ■ bo comfortable and well equipped.

A meeting of ladies,! representing: the Countess of Liverpool Fund and the Military' Hospital Guild, convened by the Mayoress, Mrs. J. :P. Luke, was' held m the Town Hall on Thursday altemoon, to further arrangements in connection with the welcome evening for the men in camp at Trentham, which is to be given shortly in the Town Hall. Mrs. Luke presided, and there were also present Mrs . W. P. Massey, Lady Stout, Viscountess Keiburn, and' representstives of the already-mentioned associations as well as of the Soldiers' Room Committee. As the guests of the evening will be the men of the Seventh, Lightli, and Ninth Reinforcements, and as personal invitations are being sent to every individual, there was nrach to be arranged for. The Y.M.C.A., iu w r.l c S 16 included some excellent talent will be in charge of the musical part of. the and the Ladies' Committee will provide the supper. •
