A meeting of directors of dairy factories was 'held to-day, ISO being present, to consider the offer of the War Office to purchase cheese for the Army. The circular stated that the War Office would take a thousand tons per month at 63d. fo.b. for October to March, inclusive. The mooting endorsed the Hawera. rosolution that the Government bo recommended to commandeer twenty per cent.- of, the output pro rata from every factory at 7d. per lb at tho grading store. COMMANDEERING URGED. ■invercarglll, September 10. . At a meeting of the representatives <)f Southland dairy factories to-day, from which the Press was excluded the following motion was passsed: "That the Government be recommended to sommandeer 20 per cent; of the output of New Zealand cheese pro rata from every factory making cheese at 7d. per pound at grading store.
