Private Thomas G. Ashman, mentioned in tlio long list of missing (believed to bo killed) published to-day, was wellknown in Christclniroh and Wellington. Ho was for some years connected with the furnishing department of Strange and Co., Christcliurch, and left that employ to manage the Albert Hotel in Wellington. Later be returned to the furnishing business a3 an employee of the late Henry Fielder, formerly. of Manners Street. Ho leaves a widow and two children (girls).
