ORGAN RECITAL

The city organist, Mr. Bernard Page, resumed his series of organ, recitals in the Town. Hall on Saturday evening. The programme, as usual, embraced a highly olassical selection of works from the great composers, and othor musicians who nave been introduced find familiarised by Mr. Page to thoso who regularly attend his reoitals. Borowslri's "Sonata (No. 1) was played for the first time. Tho "Allegro ma non Troppo," "Andante," and "Allegro con Puoco" wero characteristically interpreted by the city organist. A delightful little Serenade by the well-knot™ Busman composer, Rachmaninoff, followed, and was charmingly played. Mr. Page is playing 0110 of tlie movements from the nine great symphonies by Beothoveal at oach of his recitalfl, and Saturday's number was the second movement from Symphony No.. 2 (Op. 36). That romarkable musical composition of the Russian composer, Rebikoff, tho Psychological Poem, Le Genie'et la Mort," was included in the recital "by request." Another "request" number was tho Preludo (Act 1)— "Tristan and Isolde" (Wagner), whilo an interesting number by the Belgian composer, Leinaigne, entitled "Elegio and Capricoio," completed tho programme.
