HOCKEY LADIES' PATRIOTIC EFFORT
_ To-day will be the opening day of the Now Zealand Ladies' Hockey Championship Tournament,: which - will continue daily ' until , next Saturday. Three; matches_will bo played each day, and, to-day's fixtures are Canterbury, v. Mauawatu, Wellington v. Wanganui, andjHawke's Bay'v. Wairarapa., .The 'gross proceeds aro being devoted to the 'Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Her Excellency Lady Liverpool .will be present, and music will be supplied by tno New Zealand Natives' Association Band.
