PROVISION FOR DISABLED SOLDIERS. In a circular just issued, Mr. S. Stidolph (secretary of the - New Zealand' .Veterans' 1 Association) emphasises the r.ecrssity of making greater' ofForts on behalf of the present and iutiiie members. whose number's, on account of the war are likely to be considerably, increased _ "What, we have to aim at," ho says, "is: —. (1) Leasehold or freehold'premises in each centre where a branch is established so that ex-soldiers can be assistI ed to. get situations, meet together in reading and social, rooms, and establish "a fellowship for the good and welfare of all. veterans. . (2) Urge upon the Government the right that is enjoyed'in,other countries, that military pensioners can live where they like and not be debarred from getting their pensions. (3) 111 tho ovent of a. military pensioner dying, the wife to have the same privilege extended to her by receiving the same abiount of war pension. (4) Every 'branch to liavo an office and books giving particulars of all who are capablo of doing various duties.'. (5) The Government and employers to be asked to give, 'members . ,tho first choice of any vacant situation.'. ' (6) Seotions of land, from one to five acres each to be granted' at a nominal - rate to any veteran capablo-of cultivating the soil and putting up a house. (7) Those veterans who desire a cow, farming utensils, etc., the Government be asked to grant the same, to be paid for by 'easy instalments. :
