FAREWELLIG TROOPERS.

Sir, —Thufugh' the . mecjiym of your valuable I wish to express tho disgust of many of tho fathers of the boys who left in the 6th: Contingent at the unfair treatment received by us from the' Defence authorities. I with others the day l)efore the departure went to the Defence Office to get a eass to see our ,lads at the Trentham amp, and was told that none were to bo issued, also that no leave would be granted to the boys that night; but to further add to our indignation, oil next morning, 011 arrival at the wharf, 1 we found that no passes were to be issued to us, although, all and sundry of tho female population of Wellington and elsewhere seemed to, bo able to. go on and off without the slightest trouble, and the fathers of the uoys, who :in many cases had travelled hundreds of miles and at much expense to 6ee'them, were debarred until after the march through the City. Surely we who have given our boys willingly at the Empire's call were .entitled to some consideration by the officer in charge, especially as you know, sir, that tho camps have been quarantined, and that the lads had their leave two months ago, and have had no opportunity of seeing thoir parents for eoine time. ■ Trusting bettor treatment will be given to us when the next contingent departs,—l am, etc., AN INDIGNANT FATHER FHOM CANTERBURY. For Children's Hacking Cough at Night, . ffiooda' .Great Is, 6dj&,
