FRENCH CLUB

There was a large attendance at tho meeting of the French Club on Thurs-. day night. A lively comedy, 'Mademoisek de la Seigliere," by Sandean, was read by the inenibors and some friends.' Wickham's rendering of the part of the lawyer, as the rejected suitor of ; tho Baroness, and as the supporter of the claim of the rightful owner of. the estate, was particularly good. The comedy altogether was read witli a gcod deal of spirit, and at the close a very hearty voto of thanks to tho performers was passed by acclamation.
