The Statutes Revision Committee re* Ported having considered the Marriage Bill, and called ovidence. Thev recommended that'; the Bill should be allowed to proceed with amendments made. The Statutes Revision Committee rerommended that the Settled Land Amendment Bill should .be allowed to proceed with amendments.. ■The _ Bill was referred back to the Committee to consider another clause recommended by the Law Office. The Hon,'T. MACGIBBON.gavo notice to ask if the Government would make it convenient for the Minister of Agriculture to visit the Southland dis-' trict: dlirine the recess, with a . view to making himself acquainted with the conditions in the* district] and particularly in regard to the establishment of a State experimental farm; ' The Hon. SIR FRANCIS BELL, in moving the adjournment of the Council tijl Thursday next, s&id that he was informed bv the Prime-Minister that it was not advisable that a longer adjournment should be taken at the present time. ]Ie would advise members on Wednesday next whether it_ was infended to make a further adjournment on the Thursday. The Council rose at 2.40 p.m.. . till Thursday next. ■• -
