Til© statement that a case of cerebrospinal meningitis has . occurred in the Maori training camp at Auckland is incorrect. 'The case mentioned by. the Minister of Defence is probably one engaging the attention of the Auckland Public Health Office ; that of a European soldior who arrived 1 on leave from Waikanae camp a few days ago. This man is not seriously ill, and after the prescribed period of isolation ho will return to Wellington. " The Prime Minister announced yesterday in the.House that he had received a telegram from the medical officer in.charge of the Maori camp stating Mi at no case of meningitis 'had occurred ia . the camp or in any of the hospitals to which soldiers had been sent.
