SUMMARY AND FORECAST Fresent indications <iro for cool and chargeable conditions, with scattered showers in the northern and Bast Coast districts of tlio North Island, and fair to cloudy weather elsewhere. Expect moderate to strong southerly winds generally, probably backing to easterlies shortly in the northern districts. The barometer has a falling tendency in.the north. The barometer has risen and moderate to strong southerly winds have predominated. Occasional rain lias been reported along the Ba/t Coast, between East Cape ond Kaikoura, and also about Foveaux Strait, and tlio weather has been cold and changeable generally. D. 0. BATES.
