The fortnightly meeting of the committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals .was held yesterday evening. Mr. W. Watson presided. In liis fortnightly report to the society Captain Henry said that be had issued a summons to the driver of a milk cart, whom he found working a horse which had a sore under its collar. Another case was pending against another driver of Lower Hutt, who, the inspector reported, had worked a horse with a sore shoulder. Subscriptions were received and acknowledged as follow for the past fortniglvt:—Mr. J. P. Luke and the Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, 21s. each; 8.N.5.W., J. G. Harkness, Veitoh and Allan, H. E. Geddis, and W. H. Morrah, ss. each; J. E. Fitzgerald, Miss Tendall. F. Castle, and B. Ellis, 2s. 6d. each. Total, £3 17s. •
