ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
!An inquest was conducted by Mr. D. G..A. Cooper, S.M., yesterday into the circumstances attending the death of John Diamond, who was admitted to tho Wellington Hospital on Thursday, August 19? suffering from injuries to the head, resulting from a fall in Pipitea Street on Thursday afternoon. Dr. I'at-tie, who was eallcd at tlie time of the accident, stated tliat ho found deceased lying on the in ail unconscious condition. Tho back of deceased's scalp was lacerated by the fall to the pavement, which was, lie thought, caused by an attack of cerebral haemorrhage. He oidered his removal to the Hospital. Dr. Eivcn, house surgeon at the Wellington Hospital, stated that- Diamond was ad-,' mitted to tho Hospital on Thursday afternoon in an uuconscious condition. Deceased did not regain consciousness, and died from shock resulting from a fracture of tho skull on Saturday. After hearing further evidence the Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with medical testimony. - FATAL FALL FROM A HORSE. ' By Teleeraflh.—'Press Aesociation.
