BLINDED BY SHELL EXPLOSION
■ YOUNGEST SON OF HON. T. MACKENZIE. . . (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, August 23. Private advice states that Trooper. C. Mackenzie, of the Wellington Mounted Rifles, .tho youngest son of the High Commissioner for New Zealand, .lias been .'severely-wounded at the Dardanelles. He has lost the sight of both eyes, and the injury is permanent., Trooper Mackenzie is a brother of Dr. Kenneth Mackenzie, of Auckland, and is only 20.gears of age. He went to tlie front with tlio Main Expeditionary Force.' Cable news received by Mr. Jas. M'Kenzie. 1.5.0., Under-Sccretary of Lands, states that his 'nephew,'' Trooper Clutha Jl.'Kenzio, a son of the High Commissioner for New Zealand, has been totally blinded by a shell explosion at the Dardanelles. Ho was unhurt otherwise, aitd left for England on August 19. Trooper M'Kenzie is twenty years of age.
