IMPORTANT LAND SALE

THE BEAULIEU ESTATE. An important land sale took place on Wednesday, when Messrs. Abraham and Williams,; Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs. Gorton and .Son, offored Mr. P. A. M'Hiardy*s well-known Beaulieu Estate at auction. The attendance of buyers was a large and representative one, and included. farmers from all the surrounding districts, as well as Hawko's Bay. Competition was keen throughout, and on tho whole the prices realised wero most satisfactory. All the sections offered were, sold, .with the exception of the homestead block. This block, .which consists oE 05 acres, was passed in at ,£lll per t-cre, and an offer of -J2120 per acre was made later, but was not accepted. .
