CHANGES COMING WITH CONSTABLE STREET EXTENSION When the Constable Street tramway extension is completed and available for traffic a general re-arrangeinent of the time-tables will require to take place. The following are the principal alterations proposed:— Lyall Bay.—Lyall Bay cars to run via Constable Street, Courtenay Place, and Lambton Quay to Lambton Station, maintaining a ten-minutes' servico on this route through the day. The present Constable Street service to be run at rush hours starting from the Kilbirnie Post Office. These cars, running conjunction with the Lyall Bay cars, will give a five-minutes' service from the Kilbirnie Post Office via Constabls Street at busy hours. Kilbirnie aiid Hataitai.—A service of cars to start from the Kilbirnie Post Office for the city, mining via the tunnel and Lambton Quay every ten. minutes, In addition to this service, which will be augmented by specials at busy hours, the Miramar and Seatoun, cars also will run via the tunnel. Oriental Bay.—ln order to maintain a regular servico from the General Post Office via Courtenay Place all day, it is proposed to run the Oriental Bay cars via Customhouse Quay to Lambton Station up to 8.0 p.m., after which' the cars will not run beyond the Post Office Square. Bo.tanical Gardens. —A service of cars to be run from Courtenay Place to the Botanical Gardens, to provide, in conjunction with the Karon cars, a tenminutes' service all day. Wallace Street.—Tlio cars on this route to provide a regular service through Cuba Street and Jervois Quay all day. Island Bay and Nowtown.—The, present regular services to be retained, with ail increased number of specials at rush hours. Brooklyn.—Cars on this route to run to the Post Office, as at present. . Aro Street and Wadestown.—Present service, with increase in number of specials. ' " Seatoun—lt is proposed to run a service morning and evening as at present, but at twenty minutes, in lieu of thirty minutes intervals, throughout the afternoon. This proposal is, however, subject to the approval of tho Miramar Borough Council. The running of through cars via the Customhouse Quay route will necessitate tlfe insertion of a siding near tli® waiting-shed at tho Post Office Square, in order that cars waiting there will not interfere with the through traffic. The cost of this siding is'estimated at about £150.
