POLICE CASES. Mr. D. Ct. A. Cooper, S.M., dealt with tno police cages in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Alary Halford was fined £3, in defaultone month's imprisonment, for having us ™ obscene languago in Tory Street. l'or disorderly behaviour in Tui Street Mary Gibbons was fined -G2, in default seven days' imprisonment. Brooklyn, for .£3l 7s. lid., money alleged ; to remain owing respecting the erection : of a house for defendant. The case was only partly heard by Mr. Richlell, when an adjournment till August 24 was made. Mr. T. Neave appeared for the plaintiff, , and Mr. H. Kennedy for the defendant. i George Godfrey Martin, farmer, Nai Nai, claimed .£25 from Thomas Reesby, woodcutter, Lower Hutt, oil the ground that defendant had shot four sows belonging to plaintiff. The' question of tho effectiveness of a certain fence by which the pigs gained access to defendant's property arose, and Mr. Coooer adjourned the case until he personally inspected tho fence. Mr. E. P. Bunny appeared for tho plaintiff, o.ud Mr. J. J. M'Grath for tho defendant.. , i 1
