HARRIERS

BROOKLYN HARRIERS. On Saturday afternotfn. the • Brooklyn Harriers Club members were the guests of Mrs. W. Reynolds and Mrs. Moore at the' Taita Hotel, Taita, Lower Hutt. There were forty members and supportei-s present, the journey being made byjnotor lorry. C. Willis and W. Coop went out with the paper. Tho trail laid followed tha hills in a southerly direction for u. mile, then it crossed the valley past tho Taita Post Office to the river bans. This was followed via the gorso fields until more onen grounds were reached at the back of the hotel. Tho road was reached about, half a mile froln home, aud was followed back to the' start. The main pack, under F. 'Harlen (club captain), left after about five minutes, and was followed by a non-stop pack of fast men. The run-in ovor about 200 yards was won bv Exton, with R. Hovevd second and C. Cummins third. N. Cummins followed bv G: Button, ,T. Douglas, and H. Mio, was first homo of tho non-slop pack. Next Saturday the Ladies' Bracelet Steeplechase, two miles and a half, will be hold at Hutt Park. Tho club will journey out by motor lorry, leaving John Street, Newtown at 1.15 p.m., and Courlenay Place at 2 p.m. Ladies are invited to bo present., SCOTTISH HARRIERS.'

Tho Scottish Harriers woro tlio guests of 'Mr. A. E. M. Rowlands at- ICaraka Bay on Saturday. Tho run took tho form of "run through" over the five-milq course, the Olympic Club's trail layers being picked up on route. No "run-in" was held, but the order of arrival home was R. Ballantyne, S. Hall, and-W. Ballautyne. Nest Saturday tbo club will hold its two miles and- a half etesplfchass, ladies' bracelet haudijaj}, at the Hutt.
