FEDERAL WAR FINANCE MR, FISHER'S BUDGET SPEECH. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, August 13. Speaking on the Budget, -Mr. Fisher, Federal Prime Minister, estimated the naval expenditure for 1915-16 to total £7,289,450. The principal item was five and a-half millions for the hire of transports. Tiio war expenditure was £38,400,000, and the amount- already borrowed from the British Government was £16,100,000, leaving £8,400,000 still to be borrowed. Of £18,000,000 borrowed on behalf of the States, they. had already received £12,125,000. Australia's Quota in Men. He reviewed the war up to August 6.
