.WAGES OF SECOND DIVISION. At the quarterly meeting of the Wellington branch - of the Amalgamated Society of. Railway Servants the following resolution ivas unanimously carried: "That this branch of tho A.S.R.S. regrets the decision of the Minister of Railways- in not granting an increase of wages to members of the Second Division of the New Zealand Railways to meet tho increased cost of living,, in view of the fact that the Government has done _so little to stop monopolies frojn adding extra burdens upon the workers/ who have so liberally assisted and responded to the various calls at the present time., We consider that tho Government at the present time, should, if unable to increase wage's, at once take steps to stop, monopolists from further exploitations or make a special allowance during the period of the war."
