HOSPITAL SHIP DISPENSER.

Sir,—Mr. Allen's explanation to tha charges brought by "Chemist" in referenco to the staffing of the Hospital Ship should be taken cum grano salis. Certainly a qualified pharmacist was ap. pointed to the staff of the Maheno, but' not in the capacity of dispenser,' hence his services would not be available :to superintend the dispensing of medicines for tho wounded. Is it not a fact tliat several unqualified chemists were ap< pointed "dispensers" and given. noncommissioned rank in preference to qualified men who applied' for the apr pointment, and were turned down. Sir,— Referring to_ the letter signe3 "Chemist" in your issue of August 4, it is within the writer's knowledge that a young man went as dispenser on board tho Hospital Ship Maheno vrhe was not a "qualified" dispenser, thai is to say, he failed to pass in his ' chemists's examinations, and if, a?
