FIERCE FIGHTING IN GALLIPOLI
ANOTHER LANDING ATTACK ENEMY SUSTAINS HEAVY LOSSES - Tlio High Commissioner reports:— London, August 10, 6.45 p.m. "Sir lan Hamilton reports that there has been fighting at sever?] points in Gallipoli during the last few days. Substantial progress has been made. In the southern zone, two hundred yards were gained on our front, and three hundred yards were gained east of the Kritma Itoad. These gains were held in spite of determined counter-attacks, which wero repulsedl with heavy loss to the attac j. s the Turks elsewhere in this zona were beaten off. In several attacks, French corps gave their whole-hearted co-operation and greatest assistance. • . .
