A New Zealand officer describes tho' Maori Contingent at the Dardanelles as welcoming their pakeha General by dancing a, haka, which perplexed the Turks, who in their trenches a hundred yards away listened to tho blood-thirsty serenade. Tho Turkish newspaper "Tanitc" published a paragraph saying: "For tho first time in history tho ' Straits have had to endure au attack by cannibals."-
