The latter sculler has been working quietly for some time past 011 the AA 7 ai : rau River (Marlborough), and 011 his arrival here on Safjurda.y expressed the opinion that this river possessed facilities for sculling second to 110110 ho knoiv of in Now Zealand: There was a splendid 31-mile stretch of water, averaging about 100 yards in width between the Spriug Creek Bridge and what was blown as the . "second! Maori ditch," with only 0110 bend in it—Maori Bend— and both start and finish were only four miles from Blenheim town. What improved the. river for sculling was tho fact that there was hardly any current over tho measured course, due to its width at that point. I Hannan will go into camp 011 tho Wangamri courso at tho end _of the month, and will havo as companions his brother, Mr. Tom Hannan, Mr. B.
