A circular was received from .- the local coramitteo at Auckland concerning the desirability of an- amendment- of; 'the Now Zealand Institute of Surveyors' and Board' of Examiners Act .in ; the direction of placing the government of the profession more in the hands.'of the institute than as at present" in the hands of the Lands and Survey Department. It was decided to issu6' a circular letter to members of the council' of the various local committees in respect to the communication.
