Distinguished Service Medals have been awarded New Zealanders: LanceCorporal Fear, for couspicuous gallantry ou June 9 and 10 at Gaba Tepe, irt volunteering to demolish a. Tnrlsi6li blockhouse within twelve yards of the enemy's trench, which could only bo approaphed over machine-gun- swept ground.- Sergeant Fear'exhibited great skill in approaching and demolishing the blockhouse, and was exposed to fire for an hour. Sapper Hodges for great gallantry ou June 9 and 10 similar to Sergeant Fear's exploit. . . ■' , . . • Private R. M'Leod, for conspicuous gallantry on May 8 60Uth of Krithia. He was one of a party carrying am-munition-'to advanced' trenches under heavy fire. The majority-of the men were unable to" proceed, but M'Leod, although wounded on the leg, performed the task and returned, and not having reported that he was wounded, .he was again detailed to carry ammunition, which he performed. Private F. O'Connor, on May 8, near Krithia, foe distinguished services in tho firing line until severely wounded, losing the right eye. He was previously twice wounded, and his gallant example was of great value. : Private G. .Wilson, during the operations of May 8, south of Krithia, showe4 great' gallantry in carrying important messages under, fire.
