OFFERS OF ASSISTANCE. I'ho Trustees of Marae, of Papawai, Wairarapa (per Mrs. Niniwa Heremaia, Martinborough), their meetiug-houses at Papawai. Mangere Ladies —To equip a certain number of beds in hospital or convalescent home in Auckland. Mrs. Mathewsqu, Lya.ll Bay, Wellington. accommodation for two. Mr. Pearce, Rotonia —Free use of his house "La Mode" for three months. Mr. Duncan Rutherford, Leslie Hills, Culverden, Clarence House, Hanmer Springs. Mrs. Marion Turnbull, Grand Hotel, Westport—The liospitality of tile Grand Hotel for convalescent soldiers of the district during the time they are in Westport awaiting an opportunity to return to their homes in the country. Mr. A. R. D. Watson, Sydney—His houso and grounds (with tlic services of a gardener) at North Head, Devonport, Auckland. Mr. W. Wilkie, "Te Heka," Argyll, Otane (per Napier Borough Council)— His house in Park Road, Napier. The offer made by Mr. Duncan Rutherford, of Leslie Hills, Culverden, of his house at Hanmer Springs, known as Clarence Houso, is in addition to the very. generous offer he made in June last, on behalf of himself § and other residents of the Amuri district, to hand over te the Government the fine building known as "The Lodge," at Hanmer Springs, and to run it free of cost as a hospital for invalid and convalescent soldiers. The latter building can accommodate from 60 to 70 patients, besides tho staff.
