THE SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
There was a good attendance at the Sailors' Friend Society last night, when an enjoyable programme was presented by Misses Fulton and Boyd. During the evening a conundrum competition was held and won by sailors from ships iu port. A prize was awarded for the best mouth organ player from among the seameu. A resolution was passed in reference te the declaration of war to the effect that the meeting of seafarers hero assembled record their appreciation of the Allies' determination to carry tho war' through to a victorious finish; The Missioner, Mr. Moore, moved a hearty vote of thanks to the performers, who were the following:— Mrs. Alexander, Misses Armstrong, Fontaine, Florence, Snow, and Jones, Messrs. Boyce, Jenkins,' and Cunningham, and Master Sherwood.. Miss Dods was accompanist.
