The Dutch newspaper "Telegraaf" says that there is news from Courtrai of heavy fighting on the Ypres front. The thunder of the heavy guns and the detonations •of mines have been audible for hours. A long stream of wounded is moving from Hoogo to C-ourtrai. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. . 'The High Commissioner reports:— London, August 3, 4.55 p.m. "In the Vosges on Monday' evening there was a violent attack on the French positions at Linge. .Three attacks at Barrerikopf were repulsed." FRENCH OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. _ • Paris, August 3.
