A TALE THAT MOVED MEN TO TEARS By Telegraph—Prosa Association—Copyright Petrograd, August 3._ There was an unprecedented scene in the l)uma, many members weeping when tlie War Minister (M. Polivnnotf) described how a Siberian Fusiliers Regiment was almost wiped out by'poison gas in a position which had been held at all coats. Not a man was left in the place. They heroically struggled to resist tho fatal fumes. Many, falling Unconscious, continued firing in a halfstupor, rallying again and again for another shot, -until they were utterly helpless. The survivors continually ran along tho trenches, firing at different points, to make tho enemy believe tho position was sMll strongly held.. The gas penetrated far to the rear, killing staff officers and two-thirds of a company coming 'ip to the relief. • The Duma stood Tip in silence in honour of this glorious courage.
