MORE LIBERAL PROVISIONS AGREED TO BILL PASSES THE HOUSE The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Hon. Captain Baillie wa6 granted additional leave of absence for ten days, on account of illness.' Several reports were presented from the Land Committee, in which it was stated that no.objection was seen to the various recommendations. The Hon! G. JONES said that ho saw no objection to the majority of the reports, which simply dealt with the transfer of certain lands from one public purpose io another. Ho did, however, object to' one, the proposed transfer of 30 acres of forest reserves in Rodney County, Auckland, allowing it to bo added to the holding of a faimer who had land adjoining. It was ruled that discussion could not take place at this stage. The Georgetti Trust Estate Bill (the lion. G. Jones) was read a third time and passed. The Expiring Laws Continuance Bill was put through Committee _ wtihout amendment, read a third time, and ' Hon. SIR FRANCIS BELL moved the adjournment of the Council till to-day. He i.aid he did not know that there would bo business to proceed with to-day, but for reasons lie had already given he thought it desirable that tlio Council should continue to sit: without any irregular adjournment, until the Leader of the Government was able to announce the course of procedure in the business of the country in Parliament and outside Parliament. He did not know that it would be possible to make known to members of the Legislature to-day any matter of the kind, but it was at least desirable that they should be in their places. The Council rose-at 3.50 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. to-day.
