STATE CONTROL OF COTTON IN GERMANY
. CENSUS OF METAL SUPPLY. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright Amsterdam, August 1. The textile factories in Westphalia will to-morrow come under Government control. This is part of an arrangement to ensuro an equal distribution of the available cotton among the German factories. Tlio inhabitants of Prussia liave tieen ordered to declaro the amounts in tlieir possession of copper, brass, nickel, and even tho minutest articles, with a view to their confiscation. The penalty for not disclosing the information will bo ten thousand marks or six months' imprlsonmcnt.
